In terms of study and teaching, Brazilian music is mostly what I'm known for, but the music I record, my album projects veer into all sorts of other territory.
Although you'll find one or two pieces that are purely rhythms of Candomblé, or Samba-Reggae, Samba-Afro or Samba for instance, much of my music is experimental. I've never wanted to replicate something that others can and do do much better than me.
I like to re-create, to add something of myself and it’s that, the process of doing that that drives me to write, record and to produce music.
Whether the music I make works or not isn't really the point. Creating music is always a voyage into the unknown and I like that.
